New Twitter queen Lady Gaga sends inaugural message

Saturday was a big day for Lady Gaga – the kooky singer surpassed Britney Spears to become the most followed user of Twitter.

Twenty-four-year-old Gaga now has 5.7 million followers on the micro blogging site.

And to celebrate she posted an "inaugural message" to her fans on her account.

The clip shows the singer backstage sitting in her dressing room, wearing a crown and brandishing a magic wand which makes harp like sounds and leaks glitter.

She tells fans: "Hello world, this is Lady Gaga, queen of Twitter. I wanted to thank all my beautiful little monsters for following me. May you always have soft cuticles while tweeting and may you never have carpal tunnel."
