A judge has ruled that Roman Polanski must return to the US for sentencing in the case against him.
The Oscar-winning director had hoped to avoid returning to America, where he faces an arrest warrant over his conviction for unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl.
The Superior Court judge presiding over the case said he was acting to protect "the dignity of the court."
Mr Polanski's lawyer has said he will appeal the ruling.
