'Saying sorry to Gary was liberating': Robbie Williams
In his first joint interview with Gary Barlow in 15 years, Robbie Williams described how anxiety about meeting his four former Take That bandmates almost made him miss their current reunion.
Now planning a tour with Gary and the other lads, the singer said that he was so "nervous" that only "a push" from "his missus" (wife Ayda) gave him the courage to go.
Robbie also felt off his game because of having taken a painkiller to treat a toothache.
"I was quite large as well, and I thought I can't go mumbling, looking like Elvis," he said on BBC Radio 1.
"I'd said some nasty things about Gaz. What do I do if I go in, is he harbouring anything?"
In the event, the pair ended up apologising to each other – a process Robbie said was "very exciting, very liberating".
Shame, a song they co-wrote about their estrangement, is released on October 4.
