Absolutely Fabulous stars Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley joined a host of famous faces who carried the Olympic torch as it made its way to Hyde Park.
Comedian David Walliams, TV personality Sir Bruce Forsyth and team GB's deputy boss Clive Woodward also enjoyed the role of torchbearer.
The day began outside BBC Television Centre in West London as Sir Bruce, 84, adopted his famous crouching pose in an official Olympics tracksuit.
The Price is Right star made history when he received the flame at the exact spot of the finishing line for the 1908 Olympics.
David Walliams said of his torch carrying experience "I felt really humbled to be a part of it. There's something about the spirit - I really got a sense of that running along."
Classical saxophonist Tyler Rix then used the torch to light the Olympic Cauldron on stage in Hyde Park for the last time before it is lit during the Opening Ceremony to mark the official start of the Games.
