Farrah Fawcett's son released from jail to visit mum

Farrah Fawcett's son Redmond O'Neal was allowed out of an LA jail for three  hours last weekend in order to visit his actress mother who's battling cancer. He's currently in detention pending a hearing over drug related charges,
 
A spokesman for the sheriff's office said a temporary release is common when a family member is gravely ill or in cases of bereavement. Sources close to the family told US publication People there is no crisis or emergency, however, and Farrah's condition has not changed.
 
"Of course she's ill, but nothing should be read into the timing of (his) visit," says the friend. "Redmond's attorney had requested that he be allowed to visit his mom a while ago."
 
Twenty-four-year-old Redmond, whose father is Paper Moon actor Ryan O'Neal,  is due to appear in court on April 29.
