David Tennant named best actor at BBC awards

David Tennant has been named best actor at the inaugural BBC Audio Drama Awards.

David, who hosted the ceremony at BBC Broadcasting House in central London, took the prize for his performance in Radio 3 drama Kafka: The Musical.

The award for Best Audio Drama went to Lost Property - The Year My Mother Went Missing, which was broadcast on Radio 4.

Best Actress in an Audio Drama was won by Rosie Cavaliero for her role in Lost Property: A Telegram From The Queen, which was also aired on Radio 4 while Best Adaptation went to The History Of Titus Groan.

Director of BBC Audio & Music Tim Davie said: "These awards celebrate the cultural importance of radio drama, so I'm delighted that we have been able to honour some of the actors, writers and producers who have created outstanding programmes this year."
