Diego Maradona has surgery after shock dog attack

Football icon Diego Maradona was rushed to hospital to undergo emergency surgery after one of his pet dogs bit him on the upper lip, it has emerged.

The Argentina coach reportedly needed ten stitches after his pet Bela, a Chinese Shar-Pei, attacked him.

While he is yet to speak about the incident, Fernando Molina, boyfriend of his elder daughter Dalma and his personal press officer, said: "He's already at home and he's in good spirits."
