Glam makeover for actors on Coronation Street's 50th

Although it's only fictional, it's possibly the best known street in Britain.

On December 9, 2010, iconic soap Coronation Street will celebrate its 50th anniversary.

First airing in December 1960, the show was groundbreaking in its realistic portrayal of everyday working-class life in the fictitious northern town of Weatherfield.

To mark the historic occasion the cast of Corrie have dressed to the nines for a glossy magazine style photo shoot.

Donning designer gowns and suits, the photo depicts the actors in a very different light than their characters’ usual look.

Focusing on the next generation of The Street, noticeably absent from the photo is actor Bill Roache who plays Ken Barlow and is the show’s only original cast member.
