For any bride-to-be, the romance of Chanel's show was nothing short of inspirational during Paris' Haute Couture week.

And what better way to epitomise that enchantment than have newly-engaged model Lara Stone strut her stuff down the catwalk.

Dutch beauty Lara, 26 – who is planning to wed Little Britain's David Walliams in the summer – showcased a beautiful mini dress covered in confections of chiffon rosettes.

Like her fellow models, she also had her hair teased into a Lady Gaga-esque oversized bow, and wore metallic ankle boots and fingerless gloves, in homage to the label's famous designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Lara's dress was just one intricate piece in a collection that exemplified the talented craftsmanship of Chanel's ateliers.

One outfit shown at the event – attended by expectant Claudia Schiffer, rapper Kanye West and his girlfriend Amber Rose in a gold lamé hooded catsuit – was covered in 13,000 hand cut and stitched flowers, while another took more than 700 hours to piece together.

But perhaps for her big day, Lara will be inspired by the show's grand finale – a bridal gown that reportedly took 1,300 hours of handiwork.

Another fashion house serving up a delicate and dreamy selection was Giorgio Armani.

Inspired by la luna – the moon – the designer said he chose his theme because "it is romantic".

And that showed in the soft shimmering palette and the repetition of the crescent in brooches, curving collars and skirt shapes.

Among the celebrities in the front row was Tina Turner – who has just finished touring. She described the show as "spectacular".

"I can't wait to get up on stage in some of those dresses," she said.

With awards season in full swing, and as this year's Hasty Pudding winner and announcer of the Oscar nominations, Anne Hathaway had plenty of reasons to keep her eyes open for fashion-forward gowns.

But finding one favourite proved impossible. "There were at least six, or more, I can't wait to wear; and I have a lot of red carpet events coming up," gushed the beautiful 27-year-old.
