Princess dresses as Disney celebrates 90th birthday

As the Walt Disney Company celebrates 90 years of film-making, HELLO! Online takes a look back at the ten Disney princess-inspired dresses created by the world's most high-profile designers including Jenny Packham, Versace, Elie Saab and Roberto Cavalli.

Back in August, Disney and Harrods auctioned off ten Princess-inspired dressed created by some of the world's most high-profile designers including Jenny Packham, Versace, Elie Saab and Roberto Cavalli

The stunning gowns – each a unique interpretation of Disney's much-adored heroines, including Snow White, Cinderella and Pocahontas – lit up the windows of Harrods in London for their Christmas display in 2012

The sale took place in November at Christie's, raising money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity

Designer Marchesa said the ocean-blue silk gown perfectly embodies modern feminine style, and also 'captures Ariel’s adventurous under-the-sea spirit' which Harrods' fish-filled windows display showed off to its best

Marchesa: The perfect dress for a wedding reception, this chic and elegant deep blue silk evening gown has been beautifully crafted to combine luxurious drapes and incorporates the fun and music of Ariel's character straight out of the sea

A modern interpretation of Sleeping Beauty's gown, Elie Saab encapsulates the elegance and grace of a princess with this beaded, pale pink dress showing off a cinched in waist and off-the-shoulder cut

Escada's bold creation based on Aladdin's Princess Jasmine. The designers said that their "exotic fuchsia silk chiffon gown encompasses the fiery beauty of Jasmine, complete with an extravagant golden flower belt"

The sketches of the gowns were released by Ralph & Russo who designed Princess Tiana's dress, Escada for Jasmine from Aladdin and Jenny Packham for Rapunzel which featured a magical dress in pale grey adorned with handstiched beading

Missoni created a Mulan-inspired kimono gown in turquoise with splashes of oriental red

Each dress was displayed in pride of place within a 'magical themed backdrop' which featured a unique interpretation of the 10 original Disney Princesses. Suitably so, the Sleeping Beauty Aurora rests soundly in an enchanting rose-adorned bedroom
