Prince Harry rushes to the aid of friend who was being mugged
19 DECEMBER 2011Third-in-line to the throne Prince Harry dashed to the aid of his close friend Thomas van Straubenzee (left), who was the victim of a mugging.
The flame haired royal was talking to his friend on the phone at the exact moment a robber stole his BlackBerry.
Hearing the scuffle, Harry drove to the scene with his protection officer.

When he was unable to find Thomas – a childhood friend from exclusive secondary school Eton – the Prince drove to the nearest police station.
There he found his pal reporting the crime, and as he had overheard everything, Harry was required to give a statement.
Wandsworth Police said they had arrested a man in connection with the robbery and recovered the stolen mobile phone. The man was released on bail.
It is believed to be the first time a senior royal has walked into a police station and reported a crime.
