Manchester United captain Harry Maguire married his childhood sweetheart Fern Hawkins in a low-key ceremony in Crewe, according to The Mirror, and the bride looked breathtaking in an unconventional wedding outfit.

The England footballer began dating his partner in 2011 and they announced their engagement in 2018. The couple had kept their marriage plans secret, so it no doubt came as a surprise to fans to hear that he reportedly travelled straight from Carrington training ground to Crewe Registry Office on Thursday for the legal ceremony.

Harry and Fern exchanged vows in front of a select number of family and friends, who were similarly in the dark about the plans until the last minute – The Mirror reported they were informed of the venue via text message earlier in the day.
Pictures show Harry chose a casual ensemble for the intimate ceremony, including blue trousers, a crisp white shirt and matching trainers. Meanwhile, Fern looked beautiful in a cream power suit with grey pockets, a white top and cream strappy heels. She kept her brunette hair loose in long curls and accessorised with one white bag and one black rucksack.

Perhaps her decision to wear a suit was driven by the fact that the couple are planning to host a bigger wedding celebration in a French chateau this summer, which gives her the opportunity to wear a more extravagant wedding dress.
France likely holds fond memories for Harry and Fern, as the romantic capital, Paris, was where they got engaged in 2018. At the time, Fern wrote on Instagram: "On Saturday night, Harry made me the happiest girl in the world & asked me to marry him in the most perfect way."

A few months later, on the couple's 7th anniversary, Fern shared a picture of her large square-shaped diamond engagement ring.
It's possible the couple will invite a larger group of friends and family to witness their French nuptials, but two people who we imagine are at the top of their guest list are their daughters, Lillie Saint and Piper Rose.
