She may be working on a new less diva-like image, but that didn't mean Jennifer Lopez was going to take any stick at this year's Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
Ben Affleck's ex was scheduled to be on the receiving end of a green slime attack – a trademark booby-prize in the audience-participation shows – on the night. But according to a Nickelodeon insider the star, who was wearing a sheer pink tee under a sequined cardi along with a crocheted beret, got "cold feet" at the last minute and pulled out of the stunt.
Austin powers star Mike Myers and his co-star Cameron Diaz, voices of the love-struck ogre and princess in the animated film Shrek, stepped in to take the drenching instead. "(Jennifer) thought being a laughing stock after the year she'd had would be too much," said the source. "She's obviously still a glamorous diva at heart, maybe she should just embrace that."
The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, in which youngsters vote for their favourite musicians, actors, and sporting celebrities, has become one of Tinseltown's most star-studded events. Also participating this year was X-Men's Wolverine, aka Hugh Jackman, who won the show's celebrity burping contest, a feat achieved by the inimitable Ms Diaz in 2001.
