Catherine Zeta-Jones is one proud mother! Although she normally leads a private life, in recent months the Hollywood star - who is married to Michael Douglas - has been taking to social media to share sweet pictures of her children Dylan, 16, and Carys, 13 as she gushes over their close sibling bond. On Thursday, Welsh beauty Catherine uploaded a beautiful Instagram snap of her brood as toddlers. The black-and-white image, which sees the youngsters share a sweet kiss, was simply captioned: "One of my favourite snaps of my babes."
Catherine Zeta-Jones shares children Dylan and Carys with husband Michael Douglas
Last month, the 47-year-old actress posted a throwback photo collage of Dylan and Carys as young kids and as teenagers in present day. "Best friends then and now. #wearefamily," the star sweetly wrote. Catherine and her husband Michael married in 2000, three months after welcoming their son Dylan. They then welcomed their little girl three years later. At the start of the year, Catherine spread a little joy to her fans when she shared a rare photograph of her two children cracking up while messing about on a sun lounger. They were caught giggling in the candid snap as they lay in the sun together and clearly found something very funny. "When you're smiling, when you're smiling, the whole world smiles with you," she gushed.
The Chicago star recently revealed that her children are already considering a career in Hollywood. When asked if Dylan and Carys were interested in following in her footsteps, Catherine told chat show host Jimmy Kimmel: "They are, they are. I know it's going to be hard for them because they've got their grandfather Kirk, they've got me, they have Michael, but they so inherently love it." She added: "They're good. They go to summer camp every year, they do three musicals and straight plays, they love it. I've had a wonderful life in this business so I only - if they want to do it, they know the hardships and the percentages of who makes it and who doesn't. So I just think that they've got - they've got the talent and I know that they have the drive."
In an interview published in HELLO!, Catherine praised their decision. "I think they're good at it," she said. "When they're on stage, you want to look at them. And they're interested in the craft. My sons wants to do a Bachelor of Arts in theatre. My daughter wanted to be a paediatrician until she was five, when she decided acting was better." She continued: "I'm all for it. A lot of people ask me, 'What do you think about that?' Well, yeah, I could give them statistics of who becomes successful and who doesn't… I could say, 'You know, you'll never get work' - but I'm not that kind of person. I've had a fabulous life as an actress. I'm excited for them to start on this journey, too."
