"I'm really happy I've got a great girlfriend who's just amazing to me," he began, adding: "I definitely am [punching above my weight], she's a rocket." The singer met 27-year-old Amelia, a city worker and bodybuilder from Plymouth, through social media back in the summer and instantly hit it off. He continued: "We just had an instant connection and I think you do when you find someone you genuinely care about, I'm really happy, hopefully she stays with me!"

The X Factor runner-up also added that despite the relationship still being relatively new, he had Amelia to thank for getting him through difficult times, particularly when the singer was told of the devastating news that close friend and former colleague Caroline Flack had tragically passed away last month. The 35-year-old explained: "I was on holiday with her family [at the time], and her family were incredible." He continued: "I love her to bits, we've only been together for a short while but you know, especially with everything that's been happening the past couple of weeks, see a different side to someone."

The Voice UK judge also spoke to the Sun recently about Caroline's passing. "My phone went at 2.23am and I'll never forget it," he explained. "My manager told me and I just stared at my phone for hours, I didn't know what to do. I just didn't want to believe it. I was numb to any feelings and then I just broke down."
