Adam Frost is a regular fixture on our TV screens thanks to his presenting role on Gardeners' World. The 56-year-old made his debut on the horticulture programme back in 2016 and since then has become a firm favourite among viewers.

The garden designer appears on the show alongside Monty Don, sharing his top gardening tips with viewers each week. But while the TV presenter has become a familiar face on the BBC, how much do you know about his life away from the cameras? Read on to find out more...

Adam's wife

Adam is married to Sulina, who shares his passion for gardening.  The couple, who first met in the 1990s, share four children: Abi-Jade, Jacob, Amber-Lily, and Oakley.

In one sweet tribute, he shared a gorgeous snap of his wife on Instagram with a stunning black and white picture taken against a beach backdrop. He penned in the caption: "It's good to spend quality time with someone you love xx."

In 2022, Adam opened up about his family's recent health issues, revealing that his wife had developed sepsis whilst ill in hospital before his daughter, Amber-Lily, became unwell with an eating disorder at the age of 15.

"She ended up with an eating disorder, like a lot of 15-year-olds, she had friends going through it at school," he told The Times. "When your wife gets poorly and your family get poorly, it's a stark reminder that there are other things in life."

Adam's home

Adam previously lived in a gorgeous 18th-century farmhouse in Lincolnshire, which boasted five bedrooms and nearly three acres of land. However, after moving into the property in 2016, the family opted for a change of scenery in 2022 and now live near Stamford.

Confirming the move during an appearance on Gardener's World, he said: "Like so many of us over the last couple of years, I had time to just stop and think. Probably, in reality for the first time since I was about 16 years old - and realised that my life is slightly chaotic. So as a family, we’ve just decided to scale back, so I can spend more time with them - but it does mean I’ve got a smaller garden."

On whether he misses his previous home, Adam told HELLO! in October: "Not at all. This place was about a reset, and that's exactly what it's done. It's been fantastic."

Explaining why he finds it easier to leave a home behind, the presenter continued: "I'm a person who's spent years creating Chelsea Gardens and watched them being taken apart.

"I've created so many gardens for people over the years, and had to walk away after such a process. For me, it's a lot easier than people imagine," he continued. "You just pass it on, hope people pick it up and get some joy from it. No doubt, we'll move from here at some point. You hope that the people who take it on will do what they want, but I hope the ones who walk in the door go, 'Oh, I love that garden!' It's nice to go somewhere and feel you've improved an environment, then move on."

Adam's house move came after he was diagnosed with "burnout and depression" and felt he needed to "simplify" his life. "I had been working like a lunatic," he told The Times. "When I fell ill with Covid in 2021 and was forced to stop and isolate, everything came crashing in. It was as if somebody had removed my footings. Emotionally, I was gone. Even my passion for gardening disappeared."

Following diagnosis, Adam decided to downsize to a property with a much smaller garden.

Life away from the cameras

When he's not busy sharing gardening advice with viewers on Gardeners' World, Adam can be found at home, where he's often working on his garden.

Adam frequently shares glimpses of his home life with his Instagram followers, including of his adorable pets, Isla the labrador, Ash the cat and the latest addition to the family, miniature Jack Russell, Buster.

Explaining why his family decided to welcome another dog into their home, Adam told The Times in October: "Buster partly arrived because my 18-year-old son said, 'Dad, I think you need to get Mum something to care for,' although he did follow that with, 'Because she’s doing my head in.'"
