Netflix series Love is Blind season nine is over, and the weddings all took incredibly surprising turns. Anton and Ali, Kalybriah and Edmond, and Megan and Jordan were the final three couples who were expected to make it to the altar, yet one of these couples didn't even make it that far. Episodes ten and 11 had seen the real world torpedo two couples, with Annie and Nick ending their engagement abruptly after Nick told Annie that he did not like her putting words in his mouth, and that he didn't feel happy going to the altar with her.
Joe and Madison also ended their engagement after a clearly panicked Joe tried to get his wedding suit appointment over with quickly, telling the camera it was stressful and admitting that the wedding now feels real before he walked off camera and was seen getting into his car. However, things were on the up and up for Anton and Ali as their mothers' encouraging words made them realize they were matched in all the other ways, even if Ali was uncomfortable with Anton's party lifestyle.
Elsewhere, Megan met Jordan's son Luca and Luca's mother, and Megan and Jordan admitted it would take a lot for them not to say "I do" at the altar, even as Megan began to realize that her wants and needs may not match those of a single father. Kalybriah and Edmond's communication issues bubbled over and it was clear KB was struggling to figure out how to move forward with her fiance.
Now, however, as the final episode's credit roll, we know how these hopeful love stories that began in the pods have ended, and it's not looking like happy every after in Denver, Colorado. The reunion will air on October 29.
Anton and Ali were the first couple to get engaged, but in the real world Ali saw a lot of alarming signs that she didn't like.
At the altar, Anton says "I do," after weeks of conversation over whether their lifestyles were too different. Anton told Ali at the altar that, despite those discussions, they had fallen in love because they wanted the same things in the future.
But after a very long pause – perhaps the longest in Love Is Blind history – Ali says: "I cannot be your wife".
"I feel like the person I got to know in the pods is not the person I've gotten to experience in real life," she continued. "I'm so sorry".
Ali then walked out of the ceremony and broke down in tears, with her friends gently reminding her: "Intuition never lies."
"I didn't feel like he was forthcoming about his lifestyle, the drinking and partying, how active he is, how healthy he is," she told the camera, admitting that the conversations she had with his friends "threw off my perspective of him".
Kalybriah has struggled with communication and patience, while Edmond was often seen being insensitive to Kalybriah's needs.
"I can't force you to want to grow up, I will not get over it if you don't own it or be accountable," she tells him of his behavior.
Later, he told KB he had been reflecting and didn't want to lose her. He apologized for minimizing her emotions and thanked her for how she was making him a better man.
KB admitted she didn't know if she had anything else to give him, but said that seeing him be accountable showed he is a man, and she told him she was working on patience.
On the wedding day, an emotional Edmond began the day by sharing that his mother would not be at the ceremony, before his mentor, and former teacher, Miss Welsh arrived to give him words of wisdom.
"I've been paying for someone like you," Edmond later told Kalybriah at the altar, thanking her for holding him accountable.
"We got big plans, and I am ready, I am confident, give me some pressure I got it," he said.
Edmond then said "I do" at the altar, but after Kalybriah was asked if she took Edmond to be her husband, she burst into tears, and said: "I'm so sorry. You deserve someone who is 100% at the altar and I am not 100%.
"My no does not mean I don't love you or accept you."
Afterward, he told Miss Welsh that he felt this had been his last chance at finding love: "I've done everything else, I've even done this."
In the pods, Megan had a connection with single dad Jordan, and also with Mike, whom she recognized as too similar to the "cocky and confident" men from her past.
She said yes to Jordan, and the pair had slowly been overcoming some of their major differences, including their financial disparity and Jordan's discomfort with her salary.
Cracks continued to show when Megan described the typical week she would love to have with him, which included dinners out, a weekend trip to Aspen, or planning a spontaneous trip to Italy.
"Legos and Luca are my speed," he replies. "I can't play tennis at 10am or travel to Italy with a five-year-old," before reminding her that she picked him in the pods because the other rich guys didn't work out for her in the past.
In an unusual move, Megan and Jordan were seen on camera before their wedding ceremony, with Megan admitting that she woke up at 4.30am "an absolute mess":
"I feel like we're ships in the night, two different people," Megan told Jordan, who reminded her that he had never lied to her in the pods, and that he had made it clear who he was and what his life looked like.
"I didn't realize it would be so rigid," she then admitted, sharing that she still has "reservations" and that she didn't want to go into a wedding feeling that way.
Megan then ended the engagement before the ceremony, sharing: "I can't do this, Jordan."
"I love you so much but it doesn't feel right," she added, before she thanked him for introducing her to Luca.
Later, to the cameras, Jordan admitted that he believed if he had more money, then they would be getting married, and shared his one regret was introducing Megan to Luca.
