He shared a pair of photographs of his beloved pet dog, Axel, lounging around at home, making himself comfy on the sofa and David's plush chair.

Clearly, it seemed like the news anchor had a different idea of how Axel should've been behaving, but joked about it in his caption, saying: "Never gets on the furniture."

Immediately, he received a clever retort from his good friend Kelly Ripa as she simply commented: "Oh yeah?????" which left a few fans in splits.

A fan wrote: "Why the dog looking like, 'mhm and it's going to be a while before I get off this couch as well!'" while another joked: "'Uh yes can I help you, pupparazi?'" and many others gushed over the handsome pooch.

David provided a peek at Axel's way of living at home

The TV star purchased his waterside home which he shares with Axel on Skaneateles Lake, New York, for a whopping $7million, according to records filed with the Onondaga County Clerk's office in 2019.

Built in 1890, the 4,300-square foot property boasts six bedrooms, two kitchens, three bathrooms, and a stunning fireplace, offering plenty of space for the pair.

David previously said that it was a "lifelong dream" to own a historic home near his family, who still reside in Central New York, and he has spent the last couple of years restoring it.

"This job takes me all over the world, and I can't think of a better place to catch my breath," he said at the time.
