Cheryl Cole might be making a move back to the US X Factor. Simon Cowell has reportedly decided to ask the singer to return to the show, offering her a big pay packet to help seal the deal. Simon famously axed Cheryl from the first series of the programme - but it now seems he is prepared to admit he made a mistake.
"After she was shunted off the show, TV critics in the US said she was the best thing about the programme," a source told the Daily Mail. "Over the past two seasons, the US X Factor hasn't performed as Simon would have wanted. Now it looks like Cheryl will be the saviour".

It was back in 2011 that Cheryl made the move from the UK X Factor to the US, introduced to American audiences as one of Britain's biggest pop stars. But midway through the launch show, she disappeared with no explanation. It was widely reported that viewers had struggled to understand her Newcastle accent.
Cheryl was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger, who in turn was replaced by Britney Spears. But the Toxic singer and LA Reid have both now decided to leave the show, leaving two high-profile seats on the panel open.
Simon's decision to approach Cheryl comes at an interesting time. She is currently embroiled in a legal battle with the US X Factor over her axing.
Next month, her legal team are attending the Superior Court of Los Angeles to claim that she is owed £1.54 million from the show. Producer Blue Orbit has already paid her £1.2 million as her fee for the first series, but Cheryl is asking for £1.34 million for the second season plus a further £200,000 for expenses.
According to Cheryl, she signed a 'Pay or Play' contract with Blue Orbit that assured her of her pay for the second series even if she didn't make an appearance. And she says producers promised to pay for various miscellaneous expenses for each season, including a wardrobe allowance, money for a stylist and other living expenses. Blue Orbit have claimed that Cheryl "lacks understand in the case".
If Cheryl's legal team fail to convince Judge Abraham Khan that they have grounds to go before a jury, Cheryl could be forced to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds in legal bills and possible compensation.
But the beautiful star, 29, put all that to the back of her mind at the weekend as she took to the stage again with her Girls Aloud bandmates in Glasgow. After a short break in their reunion tour, the girl group got the Scottish leg of their tour underway - and received a very warm welcome from their fans.
"I'd usually say Glasgow are you ready? But from what I'm hearing I think the question is, Glasgow are we ready for you??!!" Cheryl tweeted, with Nicole Roberts adding, "We have the best fans in the world! Alouders I
Of course Cheryl couldn't let the day pass without writing a message to her mum Joan. "Happy Mother's Day Mam, love you" she wrote, alongside a black and white picture of the pair.
