A right royal trend
I can't be the only one who is a little upset that, thanks to the rain setting in, the weather in Britain has suddenly become very, well, British. However, something I do appreciate about a new season on the horizon, especially autumn, is the fashion. And who better to turn to when it comes to layers and oversized sweats? Princess Diana, of course.
The late Princess of Wales was a style trend-setter, and HELLO!'s Fashion and Beauty Editor, Laura Sutcliffe, goes into detail on why this staple from Diana's wardrobe that she wore frequently is about to be this season's biggest trend.
Princess Anne's husband quietly given incredible honour
Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the husband of Princess Anne, has quietly received a huge honour from the King. The Princess Royal's husband of 33 years has just been recognised for his contributions when His Majesty invested him with the Insignia of a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. His new honour is the highest rank within the order and signifies a high level of service to the royal family. HELLO! understands that Sir Tim is "honoured and delighted" and will wear the insignia at the state banquet for US President Donald Trump next month.
Queen Elizabeth II's 'fancy' spin on a breakfast sandwich
According to Her Late Majesty's former chef, Darren McGrady, Queen Elizabeth II was a big fan of a rather indulgent breakfast sandwich, which was known as a "guilty pleasure". The chef revealed that the late monarch was disciplined when it came to her food, but one thing she couldn't resist was a croque monsieur, which he describes as a "fancy version" of a cheese toastie, with melted Gruyère, ham, and often with béchamel sauce. Read more about why it makes for a fantastically royal breakfast as well as lunch.
Back to school
It's almost September, so parents and young people are gearing up for the impending return to study. For Lady Louise Windsor, 21, it's back to St Andrews to continue with her higher education studies. The royal, who is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, has been studying English at the university in Fife, Scotland, since 2022. Soon, she will resume campus life for her fourth and final year. Find out about her degree study and more about other European royals' degree education.
