Happy birthday to Nicole Kidman, who is celebrating her 59th birthday on Saturday, June 20.

While the Hollywood star will no doubt be surrounded by her loved ones, including her daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, it will also be a bittersweet celebration.

Nicole's birthday marks her first since becoming a single woman after two decades following her divorce from Keith Urban, which was finalized in January.

Last year, while embarking on his world tour, Keith notably didn't have a show on Nicole's birthday, likely meaning they were able to celebrate it together.

However, 12 months later, it's a very different story, and Nicole is now marking her special day without Keith.

Just three months after her last birthday, the former couple announced their shocking split in September 2025, after almost 20 years of marriage.

The actress has remained relatively quiet about their split, only breaking her silence about her divorce from Keith in March.

That same month, she made a rare comment about how she was feeling in the aftermath of a turbulent several months.

"I'm good. I'm holding steady," she told The Age Australia. "That's a good place to be able to say," she added.

Discussing the breakdown of her marriage during an interview with Variety in March, Nicole noted that 2025 was a difficult year for her. "I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell."

She then spoke directly about her split from Keith when asked if she was doing all right post-separation. "I am, because I'm always going to be moving toward what's good," she said, noting that her family was and always will remain her number one priority.

"What I'm grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward," Nicole continued.

"That's that. Everything else I don't discuss out of respect. I'm staying in a place of 'We are a family,' and that's what we'll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women."

It was specified in the terms of their divorce that neither party would speak poorly of the other. Neither is paying the other spousal or child support, and all matters about their children will be decided jointly.

"They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent," the marital dissolution agreement read. "They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families."

Since the split, their daughters have been seen on multiple occasions with their actress mother, including front row at fashion shows and on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Antarctica, but have not been publicly pictured with Keith since late December 2024.

Nicole also affirmed in the interview that, despite a shift in their personal situation, she will remain in Nashville for the foreseeable future because her daughters have also built their lives there.

"We have our life here. I'm part of the city and community for 20 years. It's my home," she stated.
