This evening Take That kick off their summer tour, the biggest ever staged in the UK and Ireland. In the course of their 20 stadium concerts they'll perform in front of over a million people .
Fans desperate to see Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald have forked out more than £50 million on tickets for their Circus Live tour, which gets underway in Sunderland and closes on July 5 with four shows at Wembley .
By the time the lads are done, they'll have been seen by more people then U2, the Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson's Bad tour drew in the Eighties.
"I think it’s a bit of escape for everybody," says songwriter Gary about the incredible response. "It's one night in the year that they can go out, enjoy themselves, sing songs that maybe mean something to them in their lives, something they've carried with them for years"
