Footie ace Michael Owen has tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart Louise Bonsall. The couple celebrated their union with a blessing at their Flintshire mansion followed by a lavish reception, after making their vows at a low-key civil ceremony the previous day.

Michael and Louise, who first met at primary school and have a three-year-old daughter together, hosted a large party in a giant striped marquee erected in the grounds of their £2-million home.

Among those congratulating the romantic pair were his fellow England players David James and Jamie Carragher. Notable by his absence, though, was Real Madrid team-mate David Beckham, who was unable to make it.

The romantic couple went to great lengths to keep details of their wedding under wraps, booking multiple dates at several different venues in an attempt to throw the media off the scent. The only publication to get an insider's view of the big day was HELLO! magazine, which was granted exclusive access to the glamorous event.
