The Tampa Bay Buccaneers emerged victorious after Sunday's Superbowl, but when it came to costumes, the undeniable queen of the American football championship's half-time show in San Diego was country music star Shania Twain.

Shania's two-song performance was made a little more dazzling by her daring top – a glittering bra featuring hundreds of diamonds and semi-precious stones and boasting a price-tag of more than £600,000. And the show-stopping outfit was perfectly accessorised with a necklace, earrings and bracelets to match.

"It's such a big event that there are no limits," said Shania before the game. "The sky is the limit." The sultry Canadian is apparently a woman of her word, rising above the cheering throngs of fans on a crane to close her short set.

No Doubt diva Gwen Stefani wore an eye-catching number of her own, a sequined belly-baring halter top. She sang her first hit, Just A Girl, and joined Sting for a rendition of The Police classic Message In A Bottle.

But all the fun wasn't at half-time – the 60,000-strong crowd went wild for Destiny's Child front woman Beyonce Knowles, who heated up the stage with Carlos Santana during the pre-game show.
