The Droughtlander is nearly over! Brand new episodes of the historical series starring Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are on the way and fans are thrilled about having Jamie and Claire Fraser back on their screens once again.

When is Outlander season seven being released?
Outlander fans were thrilled when the show recently announced the air date for new episodes. A tweet from the drama's official account revealed: "Summer on Fraser's Ridge sounds lovely, don't you think?
"That's why I'm excited to announce that #Outlander Season 7 officially premieres JUNE 16! The sixteen-episode season will be split into two parts with the first half premiering June 16 and the second half airing in 2024." Mark your diaries, folks!

Some clues about what's in store for Outlander season seven have been revealed – and we cannot wait.
HELLO! previously reported that season seven will pick up from the events of season six, which saw Claire on trial for the murder of Malva Christie while Jamie is en route to save her alongside Young Ian and John Quincy Myers after being rescued from Richard Brown and his men.
A teaser trailer released at the end of 2022 also hinted at the plot. The teaser feature a number of poignant moments, including Brianna giving birth to her second child, and what appears to be Claire facing the noose – but will Malva Christie's murderer finally be revealed? Bring it on.

Of course, Outlander wouldn't be Outlander without its leading stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe who will be back to reprise their roles as Jamie and Claire Fraser. Also appearing in the new episodes are favourites such as Richard Ranking, Sophie Skelton, John Bell, Lauren Lyle, Mark Lewis Jones, and more.
What is the future of Outlander beyond season seven?
Although there's plenty of Outlander content on the horizon thanks to the extended run of season seven, fans will be sad to learn that the programme announced that the eighth season will be the show's last.
But, fans need not worry too much because there is a prequel in the works! Producers of the show have greenlit the spin-off show, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will follow Jamie's parents, Brian and Ellen.
