Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross served up a similarly lavish affair for her marriage to stockbroker Tom Mahoney in June 2006. Fairytale details included seven flower girls and a five-foot wedding cake with seven layers - each a different flavour - which Marcia described as looking like the Empire State building.
One of the actress' few instructions to her wedding planner was to make the church look "like a flower shop" – where the couple first met. And even she was amazed by the final result, saying: "It was one of the most beautiful events I've ever been to." The actress, who wore a beautiful satin gown by Reem Acra and Neil Lane diamonds, accompanied her husband in welcoming 240 guests to an elegant black-tie reception. Guests, including co-stars Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria, dined on sea bass and filet mignon at Pasadena's opulent Ritz Carlton.
