The countdown begins

With just hours to go before Steve Jobs' daughter Eve Jobs, 27, ties the knot with Olympic equestrian Harry Charles, 26, preparations were in full swing at the sleepy Cotswolds town of Great Tew.

The picturesque Oxfordshire countryside is known as a private playground for A-listers, with stars such as David and Victoria Beckham, music mogul Simon Cowell and American former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres living nearby. Now, it is abuzz with activity, with sources telling HELLO! that the wedding is all coming together with "military precision."

High-profile attendees such as Sir Elton John and former US Vice President Kamala Harris are expected to be joining the four-day celebrations of the Apple heiress, which is estimated to cost £5 million ($6.7 million). Former US Vice President Kamala hosted a pre-wedding dinner party at The Bull pub in nearby Charlbury on Wednesday evening, while there have been reports that we can expect a royal wedding guest appearance from Princess Beatrice.

American party planner Stanlee Gatti is finalising the details at St Michael and All Angels church and Estelle Manor.

High security

"The whole wedding has been organised like a film production. There are some big names expected. Some of them have their own security teams.

"It’s being planned with military precision. I have never seen anything like it. The whole village will pretty much be on lockdown tomorrow," Richard Simpson reported a security source at the church said.

Despite this supposed "lockdown," locals got an idea of what the lavish celebrity wedding will look like on Friday. Richard reported that a team of 20 set designers and florists dressed the church interiors with huge orbs covered in hundreds of fresh red roses. There will also be beech tree branches lining the nave (very Prince William and Princess Kate's royal wedding-inspired!), 101 candles on the altar, and two £15,000 Persian rugs along the aisle.

Secret preparations

Trucks from catering and luxury tableware companies such as Palmbrokers – which specialises in "wedding blossom trees" and a "wedding wishing tree" – have been quietly delivering goods to Estelle Manor in the days leading up to the wedding.

However, with screens being erected outside the church and limousines ferrying the bride and groom's family between the church and the venue, there is expected to be a high level of privacy around the event.

Fans will have to await photos inside what is expected to be the It-girl wedding of summer 2025 to see the finished result!

Dress rehearsal!

Model Eve and Team GB equestrian Peter Charles' son Harry completed a final dress rehearsal at the church on Friday, alongside their groomsmen and bridesmaids, directed by wedding planner Stanlee Gatti.

While he reportedly looked "stressed" the closer it came to the big day, he calmly told reporters on Thursday: "We are all set. It’s going to be a wonderful day." Stay tuned...

The happy couple began dating in 2022, but didn't make their first public appearance together until the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where Harry bagged a gold medal in team jumping. The pair have kept their relationship largely private, but they announced their engagement last September.

Steve Jobs' daughter Eve enjoyed a hen party with her pals in June, posing in a bridal white sparkly mini dress and a veil for "a weekend with my favorite girls." They appeared to celebrate her upcoming wedding by floating on lilos in the sea, eating fresh fruit and exploring the seaside town.

Kourtney Kardashian's Cotswolds trip

Kourtney Kardashian is holidaying in celebrity hotspot Soho Farmhouse in Bibury alongside her son, Rocky, whom she shares with rocker husband Travis Barker. This has fuelled rumours she is set to be one of the wedding guests; not only is Eve's wedding taking place nearby, but The Kardashians star also shared a picture of herself sipping tea at Estelle Manor, which will host the reception.

Stormy skies

Sources on the ground in Great Tew have said that unpredictable British weather is threatening to dampen spirits in the run-up to today’s wedding.

Throughout the morning, there were intermittent showers and storm clouds gathered over the Cotswolds village. Downpours are forecast until around 2 pm today, so here's hoping it clears in time for the church service later this afternoon!

Inside Estelle Manor

Founded by Sharan Pasricha, Estelle Manor is a country club and hotel nestled in Oxfordshire, and it is described as a "countryside companion" to Mayfair-based private members’ club Maison Estelle.

Set on an 85-acre estate, the Grade II-listed house and the surrounding 3,000 acres of parkland offer a picturesque background for Eve and Harry's wedding photos. Plus, the newlyweds and their guests can enjoy access to 108 hotel rooms, four restaurants, a gym, a swimming pool and padel tennis courts over the course of the weekend.

Major setback confirmed!

It appears that the big day won't go off without a hitch as there's an issue with ringing the bells. HELLO! understands the church houses eight bells, but only two of these will be rung due to the interior design that the wedding decorator has gone with.

A source told HELLO!: "It's a complete farce. Only two of the eight church bells are going to be ringing, because they have built a tent of curtains around the vestibule which means the ropes of six of the bells get tangled up around it. It's a major health and safety issue! So farcically enough, this big wedding won't sound like a wedding at all."

A second source confirmed: "It's all been a bit of a panic. There is a major health and safety issue with an obstruction in the tower which means that this wedding wil go ahead with hardly any bells. As we all know, health and safety comes first."

The 'offending' drapes

HELLO! has been supplied a picture of one of the offending pieces of fabric. The drapes, designed by Cloud & Horse, were intended to supply a "gasp moment" as they were intended to be pulled back to reveal Eve in her full wedding dress when she arrives at the ceremony.

Nine bridesmaids

At 5.45pm local time, nine bridesmaids arrived dressed identically in red satin cocktail dresses each holding discreet bouquets made almost entirely of Green Foxtail, also known by common names like green bristlegrass.

St. Michael and All Angels Church

You may be wondering about the church where Eve and Harry chose to get married, and like many British churches it has a long, and at times, mysterious history.

Great Tew Church

The Tew Benefice reports that "there has been a church on this site since before the Norman Conquest, but the building today is a blend of different periods of construction."

"The south doorway is Norman, and possibly the pillars in the nave. Much is 13th and 14th Century, with mediaeval wall paintings and decoration visible. There are stone effigies of a knight from circa 1320 and magnificent brasses to John Wilcotes and his wife, from 1410. There is a monument to the second Lord Falkland, who was killed at the Battle of Newbury (1643), and a fine marble statue by Chantrey of Mary Anne Boulton."

The church is open daily for visitors, from 9.30 to 17.00 or dusk in winter, and in keeping with rural church tradition, Sunday services are held every 1st, 3rd & 5th Sunday of the month at 10.00, with hymns and sung service music.

Secret entrance

At 6:10pm local time - 30 minutes some after the bridesmaids and groomsmen arrived, - word came through that both the bride and groom had entered the church via a secret rear door.

Said the event publicist: "Yes, I’m sorry but we have heard that both bride and groom are inside now so they must’ve gone in by a different back entrance to avoid getting photographed.

"There is a rear entrance to the church, which is obviously how they got in. So yes apologies to everyone here and the locals who have been waiting to see the bride, but for one reason or another she decided not to go in the front door."

The two out of eight working church bells started peeling again at 6.45pm signalling the end of the event.

Disappointed locals

Well, that was a disappointing conclusion, I think we can all agree.

There is nothing Brits love more than watching a bride exit her car and enter the church ahead of a wedding, or seeing the happy couple leave the ceremony hand in hand.

One local, who lives just a few yards from the church expressed their disappointment, telling HELLO!: "It just seems quite uncharitable but then I suppose it is their big day and they should be allowed to do what they want."

Reportedly the church was closed for three days for security reasons, and families had been turned away from mourning loved ones and visiting gravestones.
