Lady Amelia Spencer may be all about the swimwear as of late, but her twin sister Lady Eliza remains a fervent champion of the trusty suit. Tailoring her latest look to the lacklustre British weather, Lady Eliza suited up in velvet courtesy of several designer labels.

The 30-year-old looked devilishly expensive in a caramel-coloured velvet suit crafted by French label Isabel Marant. The structured piece featured sleek lapels, a single-breasted cut and fabulous fit and flare trousers.

She shared the throwback images on social media, writing: "Last Autumn." As always, her close friends and family members were waiting in the wings ready to shower her in praise. "Looooove this look!! So so cool - beautiful sister of mine!!," wrote older sister Lady Kitty Spencer, while Lady Amelia added a string of hearts. Brother-in-law Greg Mallett added: "Yowwwza  that’s my sister."

Lady Eliza completed her Daisy Jones & The Six aesthetic with a pair of heeled loafers in a patent black hue with golden chain buckle detailing.

While stars such as Nicola Peltz Beckham would be sure to oggle Lady Eliza's It-girl choice of footwear, which has been adopted by brands such as Loewe, Versace and Steve Madden, another famous figure would have been sure to adore the socialite's look – and she's a touch closer to home.

Princess Diana, Lady Eliza and Amelia's late aunt, was a fond fan of velvet. The People's Princess debuted a series of classic velvet outfits during her royal years, spanning off-the-shoulder gowns to pussybow jackets.

Earlier this year in January, one of Princess Diana's most famous velvet pieces sold at auction for $604,800, (approximately £480,000) exceeding Sotheby's $80,000 to $120,000 pre-sale estimate.

The strapless velvet gown designed by couturier Victor Edelstein showcased a rich aubergine hue and was one of Diana's favourites in the early 1990s. She even sat for a series of official portraits in the exquisite dress.

Lady Eliza was of course among the attendees at Lady Amelia's recent wedding and utilised the occasion to make a splash with her wedding-ready attire of choice. During a pre-nuptial party, the star slipped into a breath-taking champagne-toned satin number featuring a halter neck, a figure-caressing fit and a shimmering finish.

She embraced her boyfriend Channing Millerd for a sweet series of couple's photos, completing her silver aesthetic by slipping into some crystal-clad sandals to elevate her metallic look.
