Emmy GriffithsThe hugely popular crime show concluded in 2017, so what has the cast been up to?
As new television shows are still unable to resume filming, fans have been loving catching up with reruns of their favourite programmes, with Broadchurchbeing the latest series to hit our screens once more. The show boasted a hugely talented cast, but what have they been up to since the crime drama? Find out here...
David Tennant - Alec Hardy
David is as prolific as ever, and since Broadchurch he has starred in Deadwater Fell, Criminal and Good Omens opposite Michael Sheen. The two co-stars incidentally created a lockdown TV show together, Staged. Since Broadchurch concluded, David and his partner Georgia have welcomed their fifth child, a baby girl named Birdie. The pair already share four children, Ty (who is also an actor), Olive, Wilfred and Doris.
Olivia Colman - Ellie Miller
We probably all watched Broadchurch wondering why Olivia Colman wasn't an Oscar-winning star yet thanks to her incredible performance, and now she is just that! The actress received worldwide fame for her role as Queen Anne in The Favourite, winning her the Best Actress accolade. She has since gone onto further glory in her role as Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown, taking over from Claire Foy in the critically acclaimed Netflix series.
Speaking about career's skyrocketing, since Broadchurch Jodie landed one of the British television's most coveted roles: the Doctor in Doctor Who. Speaking about the part at Comic-Con, she said: "The thing about this role, which is why it is so amazing for any actor to play the role, is that essentially gender is irrelevant, and that’s completely liberating...The wonderful thing about playing the Doctor is that I’m playing an alien. So all those roles are irrelevant to the approach."
Since playing Ellie's husband Joe, the Welsh actor has since gone on to star in Keeping Faith, The Accident and Carnival Row. In Keeping Faith, he incidentally starred opposite his real-life wife Mali Harries, as they played Terry and Bethan Price. Cute!
Charlotte Beaumont - Chloe Latimer
Since Broadchurch, 24-year-old Charlotte has played Kenzie Calhoun in Waterloo Road, and has also starred in Midsomer Murders, Zapped and Death in Paradise. She has also starred in the blockbuster Jupiter Ascending as well as The Windmill Massacre.
Andrew Buchan - Mark Latimer
Since playing the grieving dad in the series, Andrew has gone on to have his pick of the roles! He reunited with Olivia in The Crown, where he played Andrew Parker-Bowles (and so never actually had any scenes with the Peep Show actress). He has already called in the Agatha Christie adaptation The ABC Murders, and most recently played Ian Rider in the Amazon Prime Video Alex Rider series.
