On and off Law & Order: SVU, the two are true best friends and sidekicks, and the actress' latest photo with him seriously proved it, or so fans thought.

While fans took it as proof  that they have always been there for each other, and evidence of just for how long, some other fans noted it isn't what it seems.

The star took to Twitter to share an unbelievable throwback alongside her, quite literally, partner in crime, which seems to be from the very beginning of their hit show.

The epic throwback sees the two in all their 1990s glory, posing closely next to each other with a smile on their faces.

Mariska is donning a classic jeans and fitted shirt look, with her blue jeans cinched tightly at the waist with a wide black belt, and her shirt features a scoop neck.

The throwback, though photopped, is adorable

Meanwhile, Christopher  looks like the ultimate cool kid, also wearing blue jeans and a belt, which are tucked over a white graphic t-shirt featuring the iconic Popeye and Olive Oyl cartoon.

The post garnered over 15,000 retweets and nearly 200,000 likes, and fans took to the replies to write: "You can't fake this kind of chemistry. I'm so glad they're IRL friends," and: "I met Chris a few weeks ago AND HE WAS SO SWEET," as well as: "Oh my gosh look at how young they are."

However, some eagle-eyed fans noted further down the comments that the photo is actually photoshopped. The original photo is only with Christopher, who is actually posing next to their late co-star, Ned Eisenberg.
