The Queen's London home and office may be Buckingham Palace, but the 93-year-old monarch and her husband Prince Philip have been staying at their second home, Windsor Castle, since the pandemic began in March 2020. Her Majesty usually takes up official residence at Windsor for a month over Easter, (and also spends at least one week there in June while attending Royal Ascot and the Order of the Garter service at St George's Chapel), but she has been staying at the home indefinitely, although she has hopes to return to London this summer.
The castle, which is located just an hour's drive away from Buckingham Palace, is the largest occupied castle in the world with around 1,000 rooms and 484,000 square feet of space. Visitors can tell when Her Majesty is in residence when her standard flies from the Round Tower. It's very much a working royal palace and is used for state visits, state banquets and the like.
