Donald Trump's return to the White House has been completed as he was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday. Trump, who was joined by his wife Melania Trump, and his children, Barron, Ivanka, Donald Jr., Tiffany, and Eric, took the oath of office in the U.S Rotunda of the Capitol. Trump used a personal Bible gifted to him by his mother in 1955 and the Lincoln Bible, a velvet volume used at President Abraham Lincoln's inauguration in 1861.

With 76.9 million votes, the Republican replaced Joe Biden as President of the United States after he beat Democratic rival Kamala Harris in all seven swing states. Trump is the first Republican to have scored that feat since 2004.
The day began with Trump attending a service at St. John’s Church in Washington, alongside Vice President-elect JD Vance and members of their families, followed by tea at the White House.
During the inaugural address, the President set out his goals for the next four years. Trump called for a "revolution of common sense" and pledged to restore the nation's "sovereignty". He said: "The golden age of America begins right now. From this day forward, our country will flourish and be respected. I will very simply put America first."
The star-studded affair saw the likes of former Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton grace the halls of the U.S. Capitol Rotunda as well as Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris. Billionaire tech giants were out in full force as CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg, Lauren Sanchez, US businessman Jeff Bezos, CEO of Alphabet Inc and Google Sundar Pichai and Teska and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk were seated next to each other during the ceremony.

A slew of tech billionaires attended the service at St John's Church. Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sanchez, and former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, were all sat in the same row.
Rupert Murdoch and FIFA president Gianni Infantino were also spotted.

He is one of only three US presidents never to have had any presidential pets. When he assumed office in 2016, he was the first in 100 years not to have pets in the White House, with only James K. Polk and Andrew Johnson abstaining before then.

He is the first ever convicted felon to become president of the United States after being sentenced on 34 different charges pertaining to his hush money case in New York City in 2024.

He has been married three times: to Ivana Trump from 1977 to 1990, Marla Maples from 1993 to 1999, and current wife Melania Trump in 2005.
4. Lights, cameos, action
He has made a slew of cameos on popular TV shows and movies, such as Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Sex and the City, Two Weeks Notice, Zoolander, and The Nanny, among others.
5. Alcohol free
He claims never to have drunk alcohol in his life, inspired by older brother Fred “Freddy” Trump Jr who was an alcoholic and died in 1981 aged 42 from a heart attack linked to years of alcohol abuse.
