Sophie and Edward's day in the country

Following a 9-month full refurbishment and extension at Purdey at the Royal Berkshire,  the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh kindly reopened the shooting grounds on 27th October 2025. In keeping with a long-established tradition, Their Royal Highnesses broke a few clay pigeons to mark the occasion; similar to the smashing of a bottle of champagne on the hull of a ship at its launch.

Much like the rest of her royal sartorial portfolio, the Duchess of Edinburgh seldom fails when it comes to her outfit and that couldn't have been more true today.  The Duchess looked fabulously chic, wearing a tweed jacket, cap and oversized tweed trousers.

King Juan Carlos confirms 'personal disagreement' with daughter-in-law Queen Letizia

King Juan Carlos of Spain has revealed that he has an ongoing dispute with his daughter-in-law, Queen Letizia, in his new book, Reconciliation, which is set to be released next week. The father of King Felipe VI said that he and the Queen of Spain had a "personal disagreement"

According to El Confidencial, in the new book, the King Emeritus explains he has maintained a distant relationship with Letizia for years, as "she did not help to strengthen our family ties." The significance of Juan Carlos' confession is great, as it's the first time the former head of state has addressed the ongoing suspicion that there was a rift within the Spanish Royal Family. It has been believed since Felipe and Letizia's engagement in 2003 that there have been tensions that were further implied by King Juan's decision to abdicate the throne in 2014 and his subsequent departure from Spain in 2020.

The book aims to "offer his version" of his years on the throne, the democratic transition, and the complex family dynamics that have accompanied the generational change within the Crown.

Beatrice's visit to the UAE

Princess Beatrice has swapped the drizzly weather in the UK for a sun-soaked trip to the UAE. Beatrice was photographed at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, where she attended the Future Investment Initiative event. The mother-of-two rocked a simple white top and a pretty, ultra-feminine polka dot pleated skirt. Beatrice's outing comes as her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, continue to face scrutiny after their titles were relinquished earlier this month.
