A video message from Prince William
The Prince of Wales has recorded a video message, excerpts of which were used during the Royal British Legion's Remembrance Assembly this morning.
"Good morning, everyone. Today is Armistice Day, where millions of people across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth pause to reflect on the service and sacrifice of the men and women who fought for, and are still fighting for, the freedom that we enjoy today," the speech began.
"I am pleased to join this assembly and see so many of you taking part in Remembrance, to recognise and honour our veterans and the Armed Forces community.
Armistice Day is an important time to for us to stop and reflect – it is a reminder that Remembrance is for everyone.

'Bachelor Cottage' Andrew Mountbatten Windsor could move into
In other news, we're taking a look at where Andrew Mountbatten Windsor might live after he leaves Royal Lodge.
Royal followers are left wondering if he will transition to York Cottage on the Sandringham Estate. The move and property will be privately funded by his brother, King Charles. York Cottage, significantly smaller than Royal Lodge in Windsor with famously small rooms (once described as "unlucky and sad" by Queen Victoria), has a history that includes serving as the first marital home for the future King George V and Queen Mary in 1893.
Prince George's quiet passion revealed
As Princess Kate led the nation on Armistice Day, laying a wreath at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on Tuesday, she revealed her son, Prince George's budding passion.
She spoke of George's love of aircrafts, saying he "knows much more about aircraft than me".
After the ceremony, the Princess met a number of war veterans, including Geoffrey Spencer, a 100-year-old RAF Veteran and VJ Day hero, who told Kate about flying Lancaster Bombers in the Second World War.
The royal replied: "George very much likes Airfix models and the Lancaster Bomber and he knows much more about aircraft than me." His son-in-law, Will Clarke, said to Kate: "As you know, it's all about family. Credit to you and Will."
Update on Duchess Sophie's royal escort crash that killed pensioner
A court has heard that a police motorcyclist who hit and killed a pensioner as he was escorting the Duchess of Edinburgh in May 2023 was not driving to the expected standard.
The hearing comes after Metropolitan Police officer PC Christopher Harrison, 68, who has pleaded not guilty to causing death by careless driving, drove through a red light and collided with pensioner Helen Holland, 81, on a pedestrian crossing on West Cromwell Road in west London.
Mr Harrison was part of a convoy of motorcycle outriders that was escorting Duchess Sophie as she left the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office in King Charles Street just after 3 pm.

See Princess Anne firing a starting pistol in Australia
Princess Anne concluded her four-day Australia tour by firing a starter pistol during a visit to the Gallipoli Barracks on Remembrance Day.
The trip, which will soon see the royal fly to Singapore, marked the Centenary of the Royal Australian Corps of Signals.
The Princess Royal is undertaking an official visit to Australia to engage with community organisations and support causes reflecting her long-standing charitable work. Her visit includes meetings with local leaders and events highlighting connections between the UK and Australia.
Queen Camilla heads home for public reception
Having spent the day between Paddington and Chippenham, Queen Camilla has headed home to host a reception for shortlisted authors, judges, and supporters, celebrating the Booker Prize 2025, as well as the newly announced Children's Booker Prize at Clarence House.
She posed for a photo with the 2025 Booker prize winner, David Szalay.
And Just Like That...SJP met the Queen
2025 Booker Prize judge Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted leaving her hotel ahead of a reception for The Booker Prize hosted by Queen Camilla at Clarence House.
The Sex and the City star, 60, looked so glamorous in a structured black midi dress with a sparkly panel on the chest. It was paired with a studded bag and, per her signature style, statement heels - Carrie Bradshaw would be proud!
See her look from the Booker Prize ceremony last night and all the details here.

Meghan marks Veterans Day
The Duchess of Sussex has shared an Instagram post to mark Veterans Day in the US on Tuesday, including a video of Prince Harry during his 2013 tour of Afghanistan.
Meghan wrote in the caption: "As my husband says, 'Once served. Always serving.' Thank you to all who served, sacrificed, and continue to serve. Honoring you on Veterans Day. And every day."
It comes after Prince Harry's trip to Canada last week where he met veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces in Toronto.

Beatrice fronts campaign
Princess Beatrice is fronting a campaign head of World Prematurity Day next Monday (17 November) to raise awareness of premature birth.
In her role as patron of Borne, on Monday, Beatrice visited the charity's research laboratories at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital - where she gave birth to her second daughter, Athena, prematurely in January.
On Tuesday, the Princess and and Borne Founder Professor Mark Johnson at Control Room B, hosted a special event at Battersea Power Station. The campaign's tagline is 'every week counts', highlighting the need to keep the baby in the womb to term.
The King of hugs
The King and a 105-year-old Second World War veteran have shared a hug during a remembrance reception at Windsor Castle.
Yavar Abbas, who served as a combat cameraman in the British Army during the six-year-conflict, had already met Charles and the Queen at a service of remembrance in Staffordshire earlier this year.
His off-script address to Charles and Camilla, thanking them for attending the VJ Day event despite Charles's ongoing cancer treatment, moved them to tears at the time.
Another name change for Andrew?
The King stripped the former Duke of York of all his royal titles, styles and honours in a statement released on 30 October after a string of scandals.
The former Prince has since been known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, but could he be poised for another name change?
It could all be down to a Privy Council Declaration made by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 1960.
Goodnight!
That's all of the royal news and updates we have time for this evening, but stay tuned for outings from the King and Queen tomorrow.
Have a good one, whenever you are.
