Woody Allen looks to Munich for next film inspiration

Woody Allen could be setting his screen sights on Munich.

The prolific filmmaker is said to be considering the German city for his next film, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Bavaria Film Studios in Munich - who would come on board as a co-financier for the film - is reported to be in talks with Woody to use the city as the backdrop for his next, still-untitled project, which would shoot next summer.

As with other Woody films, plot and potential cast are top secret.

The New York native has been making his way around Europe for recent films.

He is currently shooting The Bop Decameron, which is set in Rome, and filmed Midnight In Paris in the French capital.

He has previously shot four films in the UK, including Match Point, Scoop, Cassandra's Dream and You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger. Vicky Cristina Barcelona was done in Spain.

Woody - who calls Manhattan his home and his greatest inspiration - has spoken out about being "priced out".

"I wish I could afford to be here all the time, but it's a very expensive city to work in. It's gotten worse for me," he has said.
