11 JUNE 2008When summer's upon us, it's time to start thinking of styles that protect hair from damaging heat and UV. Keep as much hair away from exposure as possible with styles such as Evangeline Lilly's pony tails – chignons are even better, particularly if vulnerable ends are tucked in. For hair that's longer than jaw length, gather back into a pony tail without tying, twist around anti-clockwise and tuck back on itself so ends are secured inside. Slip a hair-slide through horizontally to keep in place.
