When it comes to trends, famous faces are often one step ahead, picking up on key looks in advance and inspiring budding fashionistas to follow suit.

With that in mind, it's quite clear what will be the hottest hair to have this summer.

A lot of stars have been reaching for the scissors recently, and chopping off their long tresses in favour of drastic crops.

Fronting the short and sweet brigade is British model Agyness Deyn.

No stranger to the latest fashions, the 27-year-old has shaved her head in preparation for the warmer months, debuting her new look at a Californian music festival.

Having had a multitude of cuts, from a raven black bowl style through to her peroxide blonde pixie look, Agyness has proven to be the queen of the crop once again with her shorn look.

Another lady making headlines with her hair is Hayden Panettiere.

Known for her all-American image, due in part to her long blonde locks, the Heroes star has taken a dramatic departure from her usual style and debuted a new cut and colour this week.

Trading her honey blonde colour for a darker shade, the 20-year-old stepped out with a short slick do featuring a quiff, which perfectly accentuates her pretty pixie features.

Meanwhile, Renee Zellweger has also taken the plunge.

Having stepped out last month with a classic bob, the blonde actress has followed in the footsteps of Heidi Klum and showcased a new choppy do on the red carpet that certainly turned heads.
