Musical stars from all over the Spanish-speaking world turned up the heat in Mexico City when the MTV Latin America Music Awards were staged there on Thursday night. It was a cheeky chappie from Stoke-on-Trent who made the biggest impression, however, after British favourite Robbie Williams took to the stage to perform his hit single Rock DJ.
The 32-year-old performer was treated to a deafening roar of approval when he picked up the gong for best international pop artist in front of a 10,000-strong crowd.
He wasn't the only one making an impression on the throng of fans, however, as Colombian bombshell Shakira was also on sizzling form. The diminutive star whipped the crowd up into a frenzy when she stepped into the spotlight in a flowing red costume and gave an sensuous rendition of her latest single Hips Don't Lie.
And Canada's Nelly Furtado, who is of Portuguese descent, had obviously taken the title of her latest track, Maneater, to heart. The svelte chanteuse had donned a sultry, form-fitting white gown to make her red carpet entrance, later changing into an ethnic-style top when her turn came to take the mike.
