Kim Sears giggles as Andy Murray is asked what he'll wear under kilt on wedding day

Andy Murray looked relieved when he dismissed Grigor Dimitrov, one of his most tricky opponents, at the Australian Open. Unfortunately for the Scotsman there was another ordeal ahead – a post-match interview about whether he planned to wear a kilt for his wedding and what, if anything, would be under it.

Andy Murray won his fourth round at the Australian Open but faced a tricky question

With the tennis ace looking ready to die of embarrassment, his fiancée the lovely Kim Sears and mother Judy Murray looked on giggling. The interviewer asked him: "So morning suit or kilt?" Andy jokingly told the audience who were shouting out their preferences "to relax". He then added: "I think I'm going to have both options and see what I feel like in the morning when I wake up." Asked if he would wear the kilt in the traditional Scottish way, he replied: "Yes obviously, proper kilt."

Kim Sears giggles during the risqué post-match interview

The interviewer pressed him on whether he would be "freeballing" – that is foregoing underwear. Looking mortified, the Scot said: "Exactly", before trying to make a quick exit. "I've got a match to play in a couple of days, can I go now?" Kim, his girlfriend of nine years, shook her head in the stands at the risqué line of questioning. She has delighted fans of the couple by sporting a large diamond engagement ring believed to be worth £200,000.
