Susanna Reid says she would not rule out having a baby at 50 - like Janet Jackson

Susanna Reid has said she would not rule out becoming a mother again at 50. The 46-year-old TV star was discussing the news that Janet Jackson has welcomed her first child with her Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan on Wednesday, when she revealed she would be open to having another baby.

The two presenters got into a lively debate on the show, prompted by the arrival of Janet's baby son, Eissa. Outspoken Piers questioned, "Is this a good thing", before highlighting that the popstar will be 70 when her newborn son turns 20.

Taken aback by his comments, mum-of-three Susanna replied: "I think why not, actually. I wouldn't rule it out."

Susanna also pointed out to Piers that he was 46 when his daughter Elise was born, to which he replied: "But I'm a man. I don't know why, but in a funny way, seeing an old man at the school gates, no-one seems to mind.

"When women are 70, they are like, 'Why has Granny come?' It's just a fact, it's what happens."

Janet Jackson and Wissam Al Mana recently welcomed their first child, son Eissa, 

Their discussion followed the announcement on Tuesday that Janet has become a first-time mother at the age of 50. A representative for the star confirmed the happy news to HELLO! in a statement. "Janet Jackson and her husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world," it read. "Janet had a stress-free, healthy delivery and is resting comfortably."
