Lauren Conrad has been rocking light blonde tresses in recent months, but it seems the star has taken the plunge and gone for a bold new platinum blonde shade. The 30-year-old's hairstylist Kristin Ess gave fans a sneak peek at her gorgeous look when she posted a snap of the former The Hills star while they prepared for an event.

In the close-up snap, Lauren smiles for the camera, her hair worn down in her trademark loose wavy style. The star appears to have kept her make-up to a bare minimum save for a slick of pink lipstick, accessorising her look with a pair of oversized cat eye sunglasses for a nod to old Hollywood glamour.
It's not the first time that Lauren has opted for the striking hair colour, having experimented with the look back in 2014.

At the time, the fashion designer delighted her 5.1 million Instagram followers when she posted a close-up selfie to show off her drastic makeover. "Things are getting real blonde around here…" she quipped in the snap's accompanying caption.

Although the reality TV star is renowned for her trademark blonde hair, that hasn't stopped her from trying out other bold colours, including rocking a chic dip dyed pink hairdo.
The star experimented with auburn hues last year
However, one of her most surprising makeovers came in December last year, when she sent fans into a frenzy after revealing she had dyed her hair into an eye-catching auburn shade.
She unveiled her new look on Instagram, in a photo of herself and Kristin, admitting that she was inspired by her friend who already rocked the look, prompting her to make the change. "Clearly I'm obsessed with @kristin_ess…" she joked in the caption.
