She viewed the Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) Typhoon aircraft, saw the Typhoon Future Synthetic Training Facility, which provides training environments for pilots.
It's all in the details
The Princess sported a grey checked suit with black high heels for her engagement, including her RAF pin. Kate, 43, was made Royal Honorary Air Commodore of the Lincolnshire base in 2023.

Kate's 'quiet strength'
What does a fashion expert make of Princess Kate's latest look? According to fashion stylist Constance Richardson, grey is an "intriguing" choice of colour for the Princess of Wales. She says: "It's a colour that's often underestimated, but in fashion psychology it represents balance and authority. By wearing a soft grey monochrome look, Kate is communicating quiet strength. It's refined and professional without being overpowering."

Prince William speaks out about family's cancer battles
The Prince of Wales has said the royal family’s recent cancer experiences was like having the "rug" pulled from underneath your feet. During an appearance on Eugene Levy's travel series, he told the Schitt's Creek star: "We've been very lucky, we hadn’t had many illnesses in the family for a very long time.
"My grandparents lived until they were in the high 90s. So, they were the vision of fitness, and stoicism, and resilience if you like. So we’ve been very lucky as a family." But when the Princess of Wales and the King announced they had been diagnosed with cancer early in 2024, everything changed.
In a preview of the upcoming episode from The Reluctant Traveller, Living The Royal Life In The UK, William added: "But I think, when you suddenly realise that the rug if you were, the metaphorical rug, can be pulled from under your feet quite quick at any point.
"You maybe think to yourself ‘It won’t happen to us, we’ll be okay’. Because I think everyone has a positive outlook, you’ve got to be positive. But when it does happen to you, then it takes you into some pretty not great places."

A heavy day
Good morning, afternoon, or evening HELLO! fans.
Today has been a heavy day, with His Majesty King Charles III sharing a moving tribute to the victims of synagogue attack in Manchster, England, which took place today.
"My wife and I have been deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the horrific attack in Manchester, especially on such a significant day for the Jewish community. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this appalling incident and we greatly appreciate the swift actions of the emergency services," he said.
Two people died in the attack, which took place on Yom Kippur.
"Earlier today, on Yom Kippur, the holiest day for the Jewish community, a vile individual committed a terrorist attack that attacked Jews because they are Jews, and attacked Britain because of our values," said Prime Minister Kier Starmer.
Starmer said the Jewish community in Britain will see a “more visible police presence” as he promised to do “everything in my power to guarantee you the security that you deserve”.
William and Kate's statement
The Prince and Princess of Wales also offered prayers, sharing in a statement: "Our thoughts are with the victims and the families of the terrible attack at Heaton Park Synagogue. The fact that this tragedy occurred on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, makes it all the more shocking. We are thinking of the entire community as well as the emergency responders who attended this terrible incident."
Investigators at this early stage believe the attacker was a naturalized British citizen.
Prince Louis' grand plans
Elsewhere today, the Princess of Wales took the controls of a flight simulator and performed a loop-the-loop on her first visit to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.
But what was most intriguing was her rare insight into the future plans of her youngest son Prince Louis, sharing that he is keen to enter the armed services like his family, and become a fighter pilot.
The Princess told 10-year-old Robin Sansum that her children had envied her outing to see military aircraft, and Robin's stepmum Jo Sweeney, a business support officer at RAF Coningsby, said: "She was saying that Louis fancies becoming a pilot."
Working 9 to 5...
I love to see women succeeding, and so loved this new report about Princess Beatrice's company soaring to six-figure profits.
Beatrice has been working as a private equity analyst for more than ten years and in 2022 set up BY-EQ, "a mission-led advisory firm working with technology and market-leading companies to maximize the positive impact they can have." According to Richard Eden, the company has seen an astronomical rise in its finances with newly published accounts for 2024 revealing an impressive increase, with profits soaring from £39,000 in its first year of trading to now just under £500,000.
Candid royal
Prince William's episode on Eugene Levy's The Relucant Traveller is now out on Apple TV+ and it is one of the most candid conversations he’s ever shared publicly, as as our Royal Editor Emily Nash writes, one that goes to the heart of what the Prince of Wales wants for his family and his future.
Read Emily's thoughts on the episode here, which shows William take Eugene on a private tour of Windsor Castle, a dog walk with the Wales's black cocker spaniel Orla, and to the Two Brewers pub in Windsor for a pint of cider.
Modern monarchy
I've yet to watch the episode of The Reluctant Traveller with Prince William, but reading Emily's story, this part stands out to me.
"I think it’s very important that tradition stays, and tradition has a huge part in all of this but there’s also points where you look at tradition and go, 'Is that still fit for purpose today? Is that still the right thing to do? Are we still doing and having the most impact we could be having?' So, I like to question things is what I’m really getting at."
The balance between tradition and the role of the monarchy in the modern world has been an ongoing conversation in recent years, and it's refreshing to see William acknowledge that, and share how he hopes to make changes, slowly but surely.
William's wise words
Elsewhere in the interview, William was asked if he was “overwhelmed” by the history of Windsor Castle, where his forebears have lived for centuries, and he replied he was not, warning "history can be a real weight and anchor round you," and that it was "important to live for the here and now".
Wise words.
