Charles Spencer had a treat in store for his fans on Monday.

The 58-year-old – the younger brother of the late Princess Diana – posted a spectacular photo from within the grounds of Althorp, the family’s ancestral seat. Take a sneak peek inside the grand home here...

Princess Diana's childhood home's grand staircase is totally mesmerising

The picture shows a sea of daffodils in a beautiful countryside scene, all basked in a warm evening light.

Captioning the image, Charles wrote: “Beautiful spring evening, just now.”

The majority of fans were full of praise for the image. “Stunning! Best wishes to you from America,” one wrote. A second added: “Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and grounds with us all.” A third simply stated: “So tranquil.”

However, not everyone loved the sunny snapshot.

“That pic is almost abusive. We still have feet of snow here, and the temperature hovers around 0 during the day so it never leaves. Please send some of what you have there, here, STAT!” joked one fan.

Charles and Diana as children at Althorp

Charles grew up at Althorp alongside three older sisters, including the late Princess Diana, but due to laws around how hereditary peerages are inherited, he became the 9th Earl Spencer following the death of his father and gained ownership of the property.
