Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens is hopping across the pond for six months for his latest venture - Broadway play The Heiress.
The British actor, whose character Matthew Crawley is set to wed Lady Mary in the latest series of the drama, has said show's popularity in America has played a huge part in helping him secure the role.
He said: "It is all down to the success of Downton in America. The show has been a huge hit over there on the back of the Emmys."
The 29-year-old also revealed that his wife, Susie Hariet, and their two children are accompanying him to New York.
"It was a big decision to go as taking your family over there is a big thing but it's exciting. We have not found anywhere to live yet but we will pretty soon," Dan added.
In the mean time Dan returns to UK screens in the thrid series of Downton, which begins again on Sunday, September 16.
