Ryan Giggs named in super-injunction row

An MP has named Ryan Giggs as the premiership footballer amidst the current super-injunction controversy, according to Sky News.

His comment came after a group of newspapers failed in their bid to lift an injunction banning naming the sportstar who had an affair with a reality TV star.

The newspapers had gone to court to attempt to overturn the injunction but the judge rejected the application.

The judge said: "The court's duty remains to try and protect the claimant, and particularly his family, from intrusion and harassment so long as it can."
