Then, again working section by section, clamp hair between the plates and flip the appliance 180 degrees and carry on stroking down the hair. The action's a bit like the way you curl ribbon with scissors when you're wrapping gifts. Brush through with a Mason Pearson-type cushioned bristle brush if you want a full-on retro effect.
