Nails hands and feet: Repair the wear: chip-proof your polish

08 MAY 2008

Using a base coat which helps polish stick and finishing with a top coat for protection reduces the risk of polish chipping. But if it does and you don't have time to remove the lot and start again, just fill in the chip with a blob of new polish, let it dry and repeat, then go over the whole nail with another layer of top coat – the smooth reflection created by the gloss of the top coat will help blend and distract from the join.
