The accommodation includes a canopied double bed, a cosy country fireplace, stone walls and bamboo ceiling. The bathroom has the luxury of a tub and a power shower, and the kitchen is well-equipped, so stock up on produce from the local food stalls – giant peaches and tomatoes, cherries and cheese, fresh seafood and figs.

There are markets galore around the attractive town of Tavira 11 kilometres away - a huge shopping mall in Faro is just a little further - and it’s only a 35-minute drive into Spain.
