In its ninety year history, the doors of the Palace have opened to welcome a long procession of superstars: Cary Grant, Sophia Loren, Ella Fitzgerald, Leonard Bernstein... A lengthy roll call of celebs and European royals have been guests in the rooms and some, such as the great artist Salvador Dali and the Catalan musician Xavier Cugat, have even made their homes here. Today, ninety years after its inauguration, this classic of the city, sister to the Palace Hotels of Madrid, London and Paris, reopens its doors to usher in a new era with characteristic elegance and style.
Located in the city centre, close to Paseo de Gracia and La Rambla, luxury pervades every corner of the majestic building. To stroll through its apartments, to be a guest in any of the suites - all fully equipped with the latest technology - to pause and admire the historical details, including the furniture that replicates the style of the early twentieth century, is to relive the original glamour. Nor is glamour lacking in the new Bar Hall, the famous Scotch Bar and, coming in 2010, the lauded Caelis restaurant with a gastronomic menu reserved for discerning palates.
