One little girl in North Carolina is commanding plenty of respect. Johanna Colon, a six-year-old who has been dancing since the age of two, gave a sassy performance of Aretha Franklin's Respect at a recital earlier this week.
Her proud mum Elissa immediately took to Facebook and YouTube to share a video of her daughter's routine – and the three-minute clip has since gone viral.

In the video Johanna is seen throwing her all into the performance, mimicking the queen of soul's diva dance moves and mouthing along to the words. Her routine may not have been completely spot-on and perfectly in time, but Johanna's attitude made up for it.
She was seen commanding all attention and outshining her two dance partners who were positioned either side of her. The trio take dance lessons at Heather's Dance Inc.

"She practised very hard,'' Elissa, who is appearing on Good Morning America to talk about her daughter, told Today. "All eyes were on her from the beginning. As soon as she walked out, everybody was just floored."
"She really didn't know who Aretha Franklin was, and when I told her about her and played it, she said, 'Ooh, she's got a lot of sass, mommy'."
Elissa and her husband Carlos live with their daughter and younger son C.J. in North Carolina, but are originally from New York. Elissa shared the video online so family and friends from around the world could see.
"I did not expect it to take off like this,'' said the proud parent. "We told Johanna about it, and she's excited, but she really doesn't totally understand. She was more excited that she had her last day of school and that she got ice cream for having a great report card."
